Petroleum wax product is semi refined paraffin wax that falls between crude paraffin wax on the one end and fully refined paraffin wax on the other end. Its natural strengths are that it contains average amounts of oil (2.0%), is very versatile in terms of melting point and is very cost-effective. It burns easily in candle-making business, it is easily shaped, and can be coloured and scented. It is mainstream selection of raw materials.

Moderate Oil Content: This has retained a little amount of oil (1-2%), it has a feel of flexibility and hardness and will not crack and will not deform after being molded.
Wide Melting point: Melting points (e.g. 58- 60) is used during summer and Low Melting points (e.g. 52-54) is used during winter and can be applied under various circumstances.
Stable Combustion: Few impurities, localized flame, no smoke, no dripping of the flame, less carbon, carbon droplet deposits.
Friendly: Does not have stickiness, high moulding, high plasticity, good adhesion, mix with pigments, fragrances, stearic acid, etc.
High Cost-Performance: It has a cheap refining cost, as compared to fully refined paraffin, and performance is also close to the performance, being appropriate to large-scale production.
The mainstream basic raw material in the candle manufacturing sector is semi-refined paraffin wax. Its fundamental strengths are low cost-efficiency, simple processing, steady burning and simple adjustment, which is a balance between cost and performance. It is highly employed in the manufacture of different kinds of candles.
Cost-Effectiveness
Much cheaper than fully refined paraffin wax: 0.5-2.0% controlled oil content, the refining process is less complex, appropriate in the large scale production.
No apparent performance deficiencies The candles manufactured out of it look exactly like fully processed products as far as appearance, combustion, and stability are concerned, only at a staggering cost difference.
Superior Processing Performance.
Good formability and strong plasticity: Room temperature moderate hardness, simple to melt in the heat and solidify in the cold, can be cast, extrusion, molded, and hand-shaped, and is highly efficient in production.
Wide melting point range (54-62): Can be chosen by season or scene (high melting point high temperature, low melting point low temperature), can not be deformed easily and does not sweat.
Simple to adapt: Compatible well with fragrances, dyes, stearic acid, beeswax, palm wax, etc, and it is therefore easy to make scented, colored and practical candles.
Constant Burning.
Even, intense flame, and a little or no smoke: Few impurities, full combustion, less black smoke, and no wall soot.
No dripping and less wax flowing: Medium amount of oil, thick and solid wax, no oil leakage when burning, clean and safe.
Controllable burning time: The melting point, hardness and additive ratio allow the burning speed to be controlled perfectly.
Physical and Chemical Stability.
Excellent chemical inertness Decay-resistant to oxidation and rancidity, and long shelf life of candles.
Waterproof, insulated, and antideformable: Finished candles do not absorb water and soften, they do not deform, and they can be stored and transported over a long time.
Clean odor: The remaining residual odor past the refining process is minimal (odor [?] 2) and does not affect the volatilization of fragrance in scented candles.
Highest Proportion: Mainstream Civil Candles.
Daily candles of light: Principally 56/58 semi-refined paraffin wax, cheap to use, steady burning and no dripping.
Festival candles: Christmas, birthday, wedding, Lantern Festival, etc., decorative candles, easy to dye and to shape, have control over costs.
Religious/ ritual candles: Stable combustion, smoke-less, and odorless, all of which are perfectly accomplished by semi-refined paraffin wax.
Fastest Growth Scented Candles.
Low-melting-point semi refined (54/56): Melts and dissolves fragrances, and releases fragrances uniformly and long-lasting during combustion.
Simple to dye: Could be mixed with colors to get rich colors, which satisfy the requirements of home decoration and mood control.
Craft and DIY Candles
Pieces of wax art, candles: Handmade: Good plasticity good to cast, carve, lay free-work, mix colors, and good luster in the finished piece.
Wax plates and wax sheets: The toughness and hardness are balanced, demolding is easy, and cracks are not likely.
Candle Formulations of a Functional Character.
Compound raw materials: These may be used together with stearic acid (to enhance hardness/brightness), palm wax (to enhance melting point/anti-deformation), and beeswax (to enhance texture/fragrance) to optimize performance.
Special candles: Like an outside candle of wind resistance, long-lasting candle, and low temperature candle which are made by means of changing the semi-refined grade and additives.
Melting Point Control
Select appropriate melting point (typically 5658degC or 5860degC) depending on the type of candles, to provide good formability, stable flame and no excessive dripping.
Oil Content
Note the oil level of semi-refined paraffin wax. However, the correct level of oil enhances hardness and facilitates demolding whereas excess oil can result in softness, smoking, or uneven combustion.
Additives Compatibility.
Semi-refined paraffin wax itself is compatible with stearic acid, fragrances, pigments and stabilizers. Mass production should optimise the formula by first testing small batches.
Melting Process
Do not overheat when melting. Standardized heating aids in preserving color, smell, and combustion.
Appearance & Odor
Semi-refined wax is slightly darker in color than fully refined wax. It is cheaper and more common among everyday candles, church candles and pillar candles.
Storage Conditions
Keep in a dry, cool, and well ventilated place and not in direct sunlight, high heat and humidity as this can soften and deform.
