Crude paraffin wax is an unrefined or processed wax derived directly from petroleum. It contains a higher oil content compared to refined paraffin wax. Crude paraffin wax usually used as raw material in further processing or for industrial applications where doesn’t required high purity. Crude paraffin wax typically contains 5% to 15% oil, depending on the source and processing stage.
Storage precautions for Crude Paraffin wax
1. Temperature Control: Crude Paraffin Wax should be stored in a cool, dry place, ideally between 15°C and 25°C (59°F to 77°F). Avoid exposure
to high temperatures, as this can cause the wax to melt and degrade.
2.Avoid Direct Sunlight: Direct sunlight can cause the wax to soften and potentially discolor. Store the wax in a location where it is not exposed
to direct sunlight or other sources of intense heat.
3. Ventilation: Ensure that the storage area is well-ventilated to prevent the buildup of harmful fumes, especially if the wax is stored in a
confined space.
4. Stacking: If the wax is stored in blocks or slabs, stack them in a stable manner to prevent tipping or collapse. Use pallets or racks to keep the
wax off the ground and ensure proper air circulation.
5. Sealing: If the wax is stored in containers, ensure that they are tightly sealed to prevent contamination from dust, moisture, and other
environmental factors.
6. Fire Safety: Paraffin wax is flammable, so it is important to store it away from open flames, sparks, and other ignition sources. Have fire
extinguishers and other fire safety equipment readily available in the storage area.
7. Labeling: Clearly label the storage containers with the contents and any relevant safety information. This is especially important if multiple
types of materials are stored in the same area.
