Crude paraffin wax (also called unrefined paraffin wax) has the benefits of low cost, simple performance and ease of processing. With its not extremely high degree of oil (2%-5%) and melting point (50oC-60oC), it is very frequently used in industrial production and low-end consumer goods for which high purity is not a strict requirement.

Metal rust prevention: With anti-rust additives, it can be prepared into a protective coating for steel parts and nuts and bolts, to form a thin wax film to isolate the air and moisture, and prevent rust. It is good for the storage and transportation of hardware products.
Wood waterproofing: Used for coating the surface of low-grade wood products (such as wooden pallets, packaging boxes), it can improve water resistance of wood and prolong the service life without affecting the basic use of the products.
Paper & fabric treatment: Used in the production of waterproof paper (such as packaging paper for fertilizers and cement) and low-grade waterproof fabrics (such as raincoats for construction sites), it is used in water repellency and moisture resistance.
Rubber & Plastic Processing:Crude paraffin wax is used as a good lubricant and plasticizer in the rubber and plastic industry.
Rubber production: Added in the production process of tires, hoses, sealing strips, etc., can improve the fluidity of rubber when mixing rubber and molding, prevent rubber sticking to the mold, and improve the flexibility and wear resistance of the final product.
Plastic modification: Mixed with poly ethylene (PE) plastics and polypropylene (PP) plastics, it can reduce the friction of plastic particles, improve the processing efficiency and smooth the surface of plastic products.
Low Cost Candle Making:It is the basic raw material to make daily-use and bulk candles.
Suitable for making household emergency candles, festival event candles and religious candles, where the appearance and clean burning are not the main selling point.
It has stable combustion performance, stable flame and heat output is enough. Although it can leave a slight amount of soot on burning the candle it is much more economical than refined paraffin wax which is in keeping with the cost control requirements for low-end candle products.
Adhesives & Sealants
Crude paraffin wax is an important additive in low grade adhesives and sealants.
Mixed into hot melt adhesives, it can modify the softening point and viscosity of the adhesive, making the adhesive easy to apply and the initial adhesion of the adhesive.
Used in construction sealants (such as caulking sealants for doors and windows) it will help to improve the water resistance and weather resistance of the sealant and will also reduce the cost of its production.
Other Industrial and Agricultural Applications
Mold release agent: In the metal casting industry, it is coated on the surface of molds to prevent the castings from adhering to the mold, which makes the demolding of the castings smoother, and according to the qualified rate of castings.

4.Classification of paraffin wax
