The paraffin wax (CAS: 8002-74-2) is a type of solid hydrocarbon mixture that is refined using petroleum distillate, which is primarily straight-chain alkanes (C18-C30, 80-95). It is whitish/light yellow transparent hard material, odorless, tasteless, not soluble in water and highly plastic, water resistant, insulating and stable to chemicals. When heated past its melting point, it becomes transparent liquid, and has dozens of industrial applications as a core functional raw material.
